This 2024 release of Bomberger’s Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey continues the flavorful tradition of using bourbon aged in Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak. The Chinquapin oak was naturally air dried and seasoned for three years before being toasted and charred to our exacting specifications. This year’s release also utilizes malted rye in its recipe. The result is a bold and vibrant whiskey with many layers of rich complexity.
APPEARANCE: Rich mahogany
NOSE: Dark fruit accompanied by nuts and maple
PALATE: An exceptional whiskey that opens with deep rich molasses giving way to layers of jammy fruit and transitioning into rich chocolate and baking spice

This 2023 release continues the Bomberger’s tradition of offering bold and beautiful 108 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a rich and layered complexity due to a portion of the bourbon being aged in Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak. The Chinquapin oak utilized for the aging was naturally air dried and seasoned for three years before being toasted and charred to the exacting specifications of our Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. In addition, some malted rye was used in the production of this bourbon. This is a bold and rich whiskey featuring its signature fruit and spice coupled with rich molasses and a complex, lingering finish that gives you something to savor.

The 2021 release of Bomberger’s is a robust Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 108 proof with a broad spectrum of distinctively rich characters. For the aging of this release, our maturation team chose special barrels, some of which were made from Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak that has been naturally air dried for over 3 years. While similar barrels were used in the 2019 and 2020 releases of Bomberger’s, this year our production team opted to accentuate rich characters and depth by adjusting the char levels of the Chinquapin oak barrels thereby resulting in a wonderfully distinctive Kentucky straight bourbon.

PALATE: Full throttle yet remarkably smooth with some burnt sugar and a bit of both milk chocolate and dark chocolate

The 2020 Release of Bomberger’s is a flavorful Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a distinctively smooth character that belies its 108 proof strength. For the aging of this release, our Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson chose barrels made from special wood that has been naturally air dried for over 3 years. While some Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak barrels were utilized in the maturation of the 2019 Release of Bomberger’s, this year our production team opted to increase the proportion of the bourbon that spent time in Chinquapin oak. The special cooperage elevates the unique attributes of this wonderful Kentucky straight bourbon.

The 2019 release of Bomberger’s is a flavorful 108 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon. In the aging of this release some Chiquapin (Quercus muehlbergi) oak barrel selected by our Master of Maturation, Andrea Wilson, were utilized.
APPEARANCE: Deep brown with a slightly reddish hue
NOSE: Honeyed caramel with hints of stone fruit
PALATE: Big and bold upfront with notes of both milk and dark chocolate and a slight hint of peach
FINISH: Substantial finish with a great depth

This year’s release was crafted by tasting and selecting Kentucky Straight bourbon aged according to exacting quality standards for maturation. A small batch product, the 2018 release of Bomberger’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon has a rich, sweet, fruity, and bold flavor profile due to the fact that a small portion of the whiskey spent time in Chinquapin oak, a species of oak that imparts strong character.
